    Bluetooth

I just wanted to clear a few things up about bluetooth on the above pc.

    1. Does it actually have bluetooth? I.e can I transfer files from the pc to my mobile phone?

When looking through my pc I can see the bluetooth icon but when I click on it I can't see my mobiole phone (phone has bluetooth on) in other words it is greyed out.
Can a pc have the software for bluetooth and not the hardware?

    2. If it does how do I actually get it to work?

I have been trying all day any help would be appreciated and if you have not noticed I am a pc novice.

    Thanks

Please complete your system specifications, without this we're unable to help you, as we can't guess at your hardware...

    1)

You could check your BIOS to see if it's there.
You can check in Device Manager
Look around the for the symbol on the panel somewhere. Might not be light up if you have it disabled.

Or you could search for the model of your machine on the manufacturer's website for the system specs. It should be listed.

    2) After you have enabled BT, installed drivers etc. Launch the application, and you need to setup your BT on your system to allow others to see you as a BT device. You then do a search for other BT devices and connect.

I have checked device manager and I don't seem to be able to see it but I can see the blue icon when I click on start but like I said when I click on it is greyed out I can't do anything to it. How would I enable it?

Then you might need to install a BT driver. What's your make and model of your machine?

You might also want to check the BIOS to see if it is turned on.

Ok that would lead me to think no bluetooth but I have a icon when I click on start and if I right click a mp3 file it gives me an option to send via bluetooth. This is darn confusing.

If your hardware has Bluetooth... then take note that Win 7 does not have Bluetooth service enabled by default... you will almost certainly have to go into services.msc to enable it before anything will work on that front, no matter what...

However if you don't see Bluetooth in device manager and if it's an option in the BIOS you would have to also enable it at BIOS level too of course...
