1 PC, 5 Users, why does everyone sees everything?

    Hi there.

    Win 7 x64 Home Premium

So, I am new to multiple users and user accounts on 1 machine, but I tried.

I bought a 2nd PC to be used by my wife and 3 boys. My account is the Admin account.
I have created (with the default settings except for adding a password to every account) the 4 accounts and my understanding was that all the files in the, for example, pictures folder, will be hidden from other user accounts. I have just discovered that I was wrong.

Yesterday we went out as a family and my youngest son took some pictures for his album which he saved to a sub-folder in his Pictures Library. To my surprise, these files were available with Full Control to the other users.
I thought that every account's files will not be accessible to the other accounts. What I have also discovered, is that when I delete a picture from the owner's account, it is also deleted in the other accounts' Picture Libraries.

What do I need to do to "fix" this? Is this not supposed NOT to happen? (Remember, I am new to multiple user accounts. )

    Regards,
    Deon

These settings help will help with that. You can choose who to share your pictures with or which folders will be shared.

I can see why you are a guru.

    Last question:
Every individual user must do this otherwise it is open for everyone by default?

Yes all users need to adjust these settings while in their own account. It works pretty well for me and probably you also.
