Take a look at this tutorial for getting that password back. You will need to do this from one of the machines that still has Homegroups set up on it.

In that case just leave the Homegroup from the machine that still has it then create a new Homegroup and join from the other machine using the new password.

    Homegroup - Leave

    Homegroup - Create

Sounds like your network is royally messed up. Time to punt and try again. You really need to write down the Homegroup password the first time you set up Homegroups. Reinstall Windows if you can't get it working.

Some more info on using Homegroups from the TechNet site that might help. It's hard to say exactly what the problem is when you can't leave the Homegroup because it's supposed to just work although there are ways of messing it up.

The section that talks about trouble shooting might help you out. Don't install any type of anti virus until after you have Homegroups set up and working.
