So I upgraded to windows7 a couple of days ago, and am completely unable to connect to the wireless router. I have tried numerous drivers. My wireless network adapter is a realtek rtl8187 wireless. Im able to see the networks, but everytime i go to connect it just wont. Whenever i use a wired connection to the router it works. please help.

Welcome to the forum tim,

What is the make model and version number of your router?

Are you using 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7?

Sounds familiar. A new router fixed it for me.

Yea, lol, it's enough to keep you network guys busy.

I flashed my new router with DD-WRT and love it. Thanks again.

I hope the OP can get some help, but it may be a hardware issue. The gut I sold my WRT54GS to could not get it to work either. (wireless part) so that makes me think it's Windows 7 64 bit.

Yes the older routers and Win 7 64 wireless isn't working too well at all. Obviously some major changes took place in the 64 bit network stack. Your router still seems to work with 32 and 64 wired but wireless 64 is a problem.

yet another who can't connect wirelessly

running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium - have two XP laptops that connect effortlessly to home wireless network (AT&T). Daughter came home from school and entered WRONG wireless key. Windows can 'see' the network (strength = excellent) but cannot connect... AND it give's me NO options to change password.
