Windows 7 Not connecting to Wireless network HELP!

That limited access message usually relates to a driver problem. Maybe going into Device Manager and rolling the driver back and foward will get it working again. Are you getting the message with every machine?

This user had the same type of strange connection problem using the same Realtek 8185 adaptor as you have. Could be a compatibility problem with that adaptor. I can't seem to be able to look it up on the Windows 7 compatiblity chart. I think were way beyond coinsidence here. The Realtek 8185 seems to be problematic with Win 7.

Maybe just installing the Windows 7 drivers for your Realtek RTL8185L will help. Look halfway down the page, it shows a new driver for Windows 7. Sorry but it took me awhile to find them because I did not have the complete model number for your router.

It's dated 1/11/2010 Hmm sounds like a brand new driver to me. I'd say we have a winner.

The limited connectivity i have experienced was due to the fact that the router doesn't know which machine it is trying to offer IP to. That is when you have a rogue machine connecting to it via wireless or port connection.

Check in the router if there is a MAC clone option. check if this is enabled. You might have to put in the MAC address of the wireless adapter of the rogue machine to clone.

That said, it could be a driver issue, but this is lesser of a case i would think.

If it's a driver compatibility issue, a good way to make sure you have installed the correct driver is as per my tut in my sig. I work with MDT creating and distributing OS images where driver selection is critical, this i can confidently advise.

If you have the correct PCI ID and the driver is infact for the correct OS architecture. Then it is the correct driver. There is no need to worry abit it anymore.

lol, it drove me to the ether realm, when i too couldnt figure out how the hell my router ports wasn't able to provide DHCP setting from ISP even after all things set to auto detect and config.

Wireless or wired, if you don't have the correct IP settings assigned or configured, you aint getting on the internet the way it should.

Let see how the OP's issue pan out. Might not even be driver or MAC lol
