    Restart network sharing services

    Hello,

I was searching for a way to restart all network services. I don't know all of them, I tried about 10 and no one did what I wanted.

I'll give a little bit more information. Sometimes, my XP laptop stops being able to access my shared folders on my Win7 desktop. I didn't have this problem before I started using a proxy server on my desktop.

When the XP laptop stop accessing my shared folders, the proxy server still works. Rebooting the XP doesn't help. Rebooting the router doesn't work. Disabling and re-enabling the desktop network card doesn't work. Stopping the proxy server doesn't work. Logging-off logging-on on my Win7 deskptop doesn't work. The only way to repair this sharing issue is to reboot my Win7 desktop. It's a little bit annoying.

I assume it is a network sharing issue related to different windows version, because the computer of my girlfriend with Windows 7 is still able to access my shared folders when my XP laptop doesn't.

    Thanks for helping.

Go through this tutorial about sharing with XP, click on the XP tab, it should help.
Sharing files and printers with different versions of Windows - Help & How-to - Microsoft Windows

This one is more general but has good info.
Networking home computers running different versions of Windows

It can also help to get around password problems if you use the same username and password on all machines in the LAN.

After going through all of that if you are still having file access problems try doing this registry adjustment on the Win 7 machine with the problem.

Solution is really easy just modify one key in registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
create or modify 32-bit DWORD: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
    set the value to: 1
