here is the screenshot in xp as requested.
oh, and for what it's worth, i had left the homegroup correctly
after a reboot, the dual networks are gone.
I still get the permissions error on both systems. Also, on Windows XP, I have to run the network setup wizard every time I reboot; After I run it and click a few buttons, it sees everything and shares everything (though I still can't access the lion's share of it from the Win7 machine).
This is so frusturating. I wish I had 2 licenses of Win7 and could just use homegroup because that worked flawlessly when I was using the beta editions on both systems.
still not working.
this makes no sense.
ive got a C, D,E,F,G,and H drive on my win7 machine that im trying to share with XP.
they are all visible. C,D,E,G,H i'm denied complete access.
however, i can click into F. however, if i click in any subfolder under F, access denied.
nothing up tot his point has worked.
if you wold like to do remote desktop and i can check your configuration one by one with you. i'll be more than happy to do that for you....
Remote doesn't mean full access to your computer...
just means the desktop unless you allow me full.
but at least i can see what your doing and whats on screen... going on three pages now and i see your going no where so i am just offering some tech support one step higher
Edit: when you attempt to connect to the share, did you put say \\compuyer_name\D or \\compuyer_name\D$ ?
