Network problems with PS3
Hi I hope someone can help me. I am at the "pulling out my hair" stage.
I recently installed Windows 7 and first everything was fine. I was having problems connecting wirelessly to our PS3 ( laptops connect just fine) so bought a couple of Powerline network adaptors ( Belkin Gigabit) to make a wired connection to the PS3.
At first it all worked well. I could stream music etc and access the Net on the PS3.
Now the PS3 won't recognise the network. I get messages saying an ethernet cable is not connected. But it is!
The network works fine if I plug my laptop in.
The PS3 will intially recognise the network ( green activity light on) but then after a few seconds it drops the connection.
I have a good spec pc with an Asus P5K motherboard , a Beklin N+ router, and a Atheros L1 Gigabit network card.
I have updated all drivers to Windows 7 spec. I have rebuilt the router and restored Windows 7 a couple of times after the Network card started dropping out after a few seconds. The Pc can't see the PS3 at all. It doesn't recognise it as a device.
Question is this: Is it a problem with my network card, firewall ( Norton 360) or the PS3 - or none of them?
Thanks for reading this and apologies for the rant. If you've been here you'll know exactly what I am feeling.
All help greatfully received. Cheers
