Little Confused on Media Streaming Options

Hi, I just recently updated from Vista to Windows 7 and I love it! I've figured out most of the changes in the Network and Sharing Center however I'm a bit lost on something. What exactly is "Media Programs on this PC and remote connections" in the Media Streaming options area of the Network and Sharing Center? I can't figure out what it applies to and why it is Allowed by default.

    Thanks!

It's just an icon the represents WMP as a sharable program. You can even control WMP from accross the network if you want.

You can directly interact with selected devices—for example, to adjust settings or control music playback.

Simply amazing. The streaming feature does work extremely well I must say.
