    no internet after scandisk

    Hi!
First of all, I would like to say hello :)

Recently I was formatting my pc, beacuse of lack of some '/system32' files (don't ask...) and it involved massive file movement. Due to heavy disk usage I decided to defragment and run scandisk. defragmentation went good (though I couldn't defragment my 'd' partition). When I started scandisk on d:\ it said that disk is being used and asked if I want to force it to stop - YES. after a while I got bored and decided, that I need some fun (by fun I mean COD:MW2) and aborted it. I couldn't gain acces to d: so I rebooted my machine. Everything seems to be working ok - except for INTERNET! I tried system restore, changing from DHCP to static, pinging (pings to gateway with static IP work, pings to internet - not)... Now I'm writing from my LiveCD linux and internet is working perfectly good.

P.S. I know it isn't correct forum for it, but I need answer fast, so I ask here: what are original permissions on partitions? because I think that that's screwed to...

P.P.S. If I made mistakes - I'm horribly sorry. It's not my native language :)

Have you tried unplugging your modem, and/or resetting it?
