New router and cannot connect properly

    I'll explain it:
    My connection is automatically connected. Ever since we got this new connection, every ten minutes my laptop tells me I have no internet or there is trouble with the internet. I press "troubleshoot."
    It runs a scan.
    When it comes up to the "detected problem" page it tells me:
    <!> Cord to adapter is either broken or not connected.

    Now as for my understanding. It is neither. It is connected. I make sure everything is connected every time I have no internet. Yet the problem still persists.
    I would love some help.
    This is the full explanation. There is nothing more to explain.
    This is the problem.
    My problem is: Ever since I got a new router, it cannot connect to the internet for more than ten minutes.
    My mother just reset the adapter and the "ten" minutes lowered down to five minutes.

    Ok so the cable is physically connected, the troubleshooting thinks it's broken cos it cannot connect to the router. This is misleading so i'd disgard what the system reports.

    The fact that you can access the internet and then get disconnected every 10 minitues can mean the following things (i believe):

    1) Your router is having issues talking to your ISP. If the router is connected to the modem, the router's IP setting will need to be double-checked, in particular the DNS. Usually the model is setup by your ISP, and if setup as auto-config DHCP, this will allow your router to connect through. If not, and if you know precisely your ISP's IP, Gateway, DNSs you could try and use Status IP for your router. Try it either way.

    2) Your wireless adapter and thus W7's setup does not truely match the router's setting. This is a grey area to troubleshoot cos usually if you have the wrong security key or if there is a mis-match in setup, you would not be able to connect to your wireless network. You can only double check the setups in this regards.

    3) Miscellaneous issues, ranging from virus, firewall, interferences, weak signals, drivers. These are highly unlikely cos usually things like weak signals, drivers etc, you will know straight away.

    I guess this is were i sign out if the above have already been looked at. Maybe it's a dodgy router even who knows....
