    Connecting non-Win7 devices to homegroup

Most of the PC's in my house are on Windows 7 and they all connect with each other without any problems. I have not been able to get my laptop (WinXP Pro) or Netbook (Ubuntu 9.10) to connect to the Homegroup. I also have a Networked Attached Storage device but this seems to be invisible to Windows 7. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

As far as I know, homegroup is only for Windows 7 machines. I don't think it is possible to connect with Ubuntu or XP.

Thanks - is there any way to create a second network that can link Win7, WinXP and a NAS?

Well, you could use a Workgroup.

Problem solved! Changed the Local Group Policy settings as per Ultraplanet's post, mapped the NAS as a network drive to \\NAS_NAME\Public & it works perfectly! Thanks a lot.
