Problems with atheros L1 ethernet adapter in Win7 x64

Hi, i have windows 7 x86 build 7022, with an onboard ethernet adapter "atheros L1" with vista drivers, RUN OK. I installed Windows 7 x64 uild 7057 with the same drivers, but the problem is that after a few minutes the network adapter looks "unplugged" if i restart Windows 7 the problem disappear... but did not have that problem before with Windows 7 X86 build 7022.
And is very tiring, restart the computer each time this happens.

Sorry for my bad english.

Hello Verahert...

What system are you running this on?
Please post your motherboard/system model so we can assist

Also try changing this value under Network and Sharing Center - Homegroup and Sharing Options - Change advanced sharing settings :

Hi!

I have almost the same problem as Verahert.
I have atheros l1 gigabit ethernet and when i try to stream movies or tv-series from my PC to my mac it disconnects and then i have to Disable the network and Enable it again.

My PC has a ASUS P5K SE motherboard and a E6750 CPU.

But i have no problems at all to surf the web, download something from FTP and things like that.

What should it say?
Should i have "Use 128-bit encryption" or "Enable file sharing for devices that use 40 - 56bit encryption" ?

Thank you for your help!

I'm having a very similar (if not the same issue). Internet connection works fine normally, but when I connect to my PlayOn media server via the network (both computer and PS3 are wired) my computer loses connection to the internet and I get either a 2104 or 2114 media server error on my PS3. It is highly frustrating because we cannot access the internet or TV from our Linksys Media Center extender as well, because it will not connect either.

Note: internet connection never drops. Can still connect to internet via wireless. This is a problem with the Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet driver for Win7x64... anyone know of a fix?

I think I might've figured out the issue. In the advanced sharing settings you need to enable media sharing to your LAN (mine wasn't enabled by default). So far so good, I'll let you know if this is actually the issue, who knows.

Hello guys.Sorry for digging up this thread but I have the same problem. My Asus P5K mobo has an Atheros L1 controller. When I start downloading a torrent it appears like the cable is unplugged. i thought the problem was with the router but i recently installed a second PC on it and while my PC shows unplugged,my second PC works fine and has access to Internet. Same when i relog on Win XP. Has anyone come up with a solution?
