MYSQL Error after IE patch

After installing the recent IE patch the deals with blocking the "hole" that the China Google hack issue exploited I am getting many many "MYSQL database" errors and am unable to get to certain websites/forums I used to be able to. Here is a complete message that pops up when I try to navigate to Infinity Ward's (COD:Modern Warfare developer) forums.

/system/libraries/drivers/Database/Mysql.php [61]:
mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections

Since the patch I have been unable to go to this forum which I really need to in order to see what steps I can take to resolve some game crashing issues do to a recent game patch. I have tried to use Firefox also and I get the same error so not sure if the IE patch did something system wide that effects FF also or if it is pure random events and several webistes are having similar issues all at the same time.
