Share Fax with Windows 7 on network

My WHS died and I desided to go with Windows 7 across the board. All my computers are running it and I thought it would be better to just run windows 7 ultimate as my server. I have everything running but my modem. I had it set up to be shared as a fax modem so that I could send and receive faxes from one location. I have been working on this for a while now and I can't seem to figure out how to get the fax to share.. I got it working on the server it self, but sharing it with others.. I was wondering if I needed a third party adaptor or software. I know I could just try to build a cheap small xp machine and run the fax off that, but it would be a waste cuss I hardly ever use it.. It's just nice to know you have it when you need it.. Thanks for your help...

The way I do it is that I have an HP Officejet 6500 and when I install it. It creates a Fax/Printer sorta thingy in the Printers Folder where If i point to that printer, it will act as a fax and dial out and send the document electronically.

umm yeah that is a hard question..... I will look into it.

Try this... i will try it too see what I can find out

    Actually it does work....

then on your remote computers, do the same thing in Windows Fax and Scan but now you just want to connect remotely becuase you have the fax modem shared.

Yea, but how do you share the modem? When I try to share, it tells me that it's not a shareable device...

    Nope.

Nope I didn't. I am just using Efax. It's $9.99 a month and use it on any computer.. I asked Microsoft and spent $60 for an answer. The answer was "Can't be done". lol Efax works great.
