W7 x64 SMTP - Problems sending large email
Sending larger emails worked fine with my new ASUS U80V (Windows 7) until I ran some WIN updates. Strange enough it still works when I connect to the internet from the office (wireless).
Connecting from home (wireless & cable) I get timeouts when sending large emails (greater than 4096 Bytes in message body, emails w/ attachments). I can send smaller emails (< 4096 in message body) without problems. Internet connection itself from home is fine - streaming and downloading files works like a charm.
Thunderbird and MS Outlook connect well to my SMTP server, the progress bar gets filled but stops after a while and I get a "Connection timeout".
I run a XP machine in the same network. Using the identical Thunderbird settings I can send large emails with no problems.
Looked up and checked everything found here:
Windows 7 Loses Internet Connection but not Network Connection.
Problem remains in SAFE MODE.
Since sending large emails from office works one might assume is has to to with the router (COMTREND CT-535). I'd prefer leaving the router "as is" and stay away from firmware updates, also considering that everything worked fine in the beginning.
I installed at one point ESET NOD32 and de-installed it again. email client protection was active when sending email worked.
Tx for your help!!
