Ok I'll put this into a single post for clarity because this dropped connection with server's has been an ongoing problem since Vista.

It appears as if the memory management adjustment was indeed part of the problem as I mentioned earlier.

But also the Lanman server parameters needed to be adjusted to a level of "3". Man talk about a confusing problem.

Some research led me to find this Google Groups discussion about the problem and this Microsoft Technet article discussing the solution (look at the bottom of the page).

Here you can see from this thread I posted earlier they talk about the adjusting the LanmanServer Key but didn't seem to know what value to set it at which is apparently "3".

Apparently you need to tell Windows that you want to use the machine as a file server and that it should allocate resources accordingly.

Set the following registry key to ‘1′:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache

After that navigate too the following key:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size
and set this registry key to ‘3′:

After making these changes and restarting, I haven’t seen this issue arise again. Fixed!

Thanks for reporting back in with this fix Captnibble!
