Why doesn't my netgear W111v2 connect to my router?

I use windows 7 home premium. I have updated all drivers and neccessary things to allow the wireless network adapter to recognise the router. However, when i input my WPA2 and do all the required things, i press connect and nothing happens!!!!

    Please would someone help immediately!!

    Many thanks!

Are you using the auto generated network password or did you make up your own password?

So your machine "sees" the network. It allows you to 'connect' and enter a password, right? Then when it passes through the password, it does nothing? Do you have any icon changes in the system tray? perhaps a triangle with an exclamation point?

I ended up having to create my own password because the default one wasn't working for me. Might be worth a try for you.

There is no icon. The thing is, it doesn't connect when i press "connect" in the wireless network adapter "smart wizard"...

Supposedly this adapter (netgear w111v2) doesn't work with windows 7, as said in previous posts, however, to get it working i have downloaded evrything i need and followed the ways in which it can begin working.

But would changing the password affect other computers connected to the router??

Can you link the article or give us the steps you've taken to correct this issue thus far?

According to the Windows 7 compatiblity chart it's not currently listed as compatible with Windows 7, of course some new drivers could fix that problem but for now I wouldn't expect too much from that wireless adaptor. Looks like the last update was in 08 unless you found something more recent maybe?

From what I read you only need to insert the USB device and Windows 7 will install the correct driver.

Netgear WG111v2 beta driver is the link to a thread that I used to update the driver for the adapter. Evrything was working fine in the setup for this adapter, until when i pressed "connect" nothing happened.
