    wireless usb adapters

I have now tried 3 different brands of usb wireless adapters for my new win7 installation. None of them worked. I formated and installed again for each and one of them but the same thing keeps happening.

I install the reccomended drivers ffor win7.

I have turned off homegroups, turned off ipv6 and each time i either get an error telling me that the drivers cant be found or that the software for the program cant be runned since it cant find any usb adapters.

I tryed: Netgear NW111v2, Dlink DWA-140 N and last Jensen Airlink 85300 series.

It starts to piss me off pretty much.

In the reboot process i also need to unplug the usb device to get the pc rebooted completly. (otherwise it bluescreens)

I KNOW that the usb is working since I have used each one of them with a usb stick and transferred data.

Ok what errors did you get when your tried to connect to your wireless network. Assumming you have no issues with drivers and the wireless adatper is enabled. etc.

    yes, its enabled

there were no errors actually. On the Netgear one, i could not get te software running. It opened for 5 seconds, and then stopped and closed. Googled this error and did the troubleshooting everyone told me and downloaded the new drivers, but still same problem

for the other two adapters, it installed the software ok, but it said it could not find any usb adapter connected, and in the driver section while choosing troubleshooting it said that the drivers could have a problem.

I did not try different adapters at the same time, i formated between each one.

Now i am testing to plug in a tp cable and let windows find drivers, lets see if that makes it any better.

while updating drivers through windows update in the driver section, it ends with a timeout. They found a driver to install but encountered an error and timed out.

Why do you need windows to try and find drivers? Does the adapter don't have a CD for it's drivers?

What is showing in your Device Manager now, any yellow exclamation marks?

I have both tried the following drivers and the updated one from the homepage of the brand. There was one yellow sign once and it told me the driver were not correct, but i dont have any other drivers than the ones coming from the brand homepage itself.

Can you screenshot your device manager showing the wireless adapter. what is the make and model of your machine? Also provide details of your PCI ID (see my Driver tutorial in sig from steps 1-3).

Is there a third party software/program that needs to be run to operate your wireless adapter? More than often these USB types do have.

Actually there is nothing wrong in device manager, when i plug in the USB adapter it says it find the correct one.... but when running the software for it, it just does not detect any wireless network and says it cant find the usb adapter.
