Netbook with Windows 7 network trouble

Ok I have an Asus Eee pc. One of those 10" deals that had Xp and now has 7 pro installed on it.

It has one gig of ram as well.

My problem that I just don't have an answer to is this.

The laptop works just like I expect it to other than it taking about 2-4 minutes to connect to my wireless network. It drives me nuts.

As it comes out of sleep it has to locate and connect to the network and then it just seems to take forever to load up the home page of the browser. After the wake up and the first page load you can close it and reopen it as many times as you want and it will go fast.

It only takes forever coming out of sleep mode. This problem also happened with xp as well. Any ideas?

I really want it to just get connected as fast as a normal laptop.

Did you go to the netbooks manufacture home page and look for a windows 7 driver for your wireless adapter?

Yeah please guys I am not that dumb lol. Drivers are the first thing I considered haha.

I was thinking about the ram. Do you think it would help connect faster to the internet? If you do it is only like $20/25 so it would be worth the money to see if it helps!!!

The Harddrive installed will have to do, but it is a 5400rpm one so it is not that bad...

well the ram will make your computer handle task faster. im not sure how effective that will be at searching out wi-fi networks but it would definitely make 7 a bit snappier on your system. unfortunatly there isn't much you can do with a laptop of any size to improve performance. maybe some other users here can be more helpful with your particular problem.

Did you check the wireless adapter maker's Support Downloads webpage to see if there is another driver for your model? Try them all, including Vista.

Did you change the drivers provided by the installer? Which ones? Have you received newer drivers from Windows Updates?

How much physical memory do you have left?

Just do a Ctrl-Shift-Esc to open up Windows Task Manager and go to the Performance Tab. And look at Memory..

I really don't know if adding more Ram would help, But it would Speed it up From Sleep and boot, So you might see a performance increase..It could also be your network, Do other computers connect to your wireless network faster than your netbook?

    Hope this Helps..

Well my laptop comes out of Sleep in like 3 seconds and can be on the web as soon as the browser loads up so my network seems to be fine.

I will check out some prices on ram and see if it helps.
