Windows 7: Can't connect to samba share

Can't connect to samba share

I'm trying to connect to a samba share hosted on OS X 10.4.

The connection works fine, using my domain account to logon when using Windows XP (in fact, it automatically uses my domain credentials).

However, if I try to use Windows 7 to connect, I get an access denied error, saying my password is incorrect.

Hello Jessicah

Try changing the 128bit to 40-56 bit encryption for file shares under Advanced Sharing Options found in Network and Sharing center.

Also , please post a screenshot here of that page of yours .

After posting to forum, I finally found a website (Get Vista and Samba to work - Blogs - Builder AU) that fixed the issue. By default only NTLMv2 responses are enabled, which was the problem.
