Strange Folders

Hi everyone,

This is my first post after registering, have always used the forum for help but never registered,apoligies for that.

I have set up a home network, 2 computers and 1 laptop all running windows 7 ultimate. All is connected and working and moving files back and forward with no problems at all. If I connect through the Network icon I see all the folders that are used, but if I click the homegroup it has some extra folders in it and if I click on them I get back an error "Windows cannot access\\Mediaserver-pc\ folder names are whatever, error code: 0x80070035. These folders only show up in the home group of one of the computers and the laptop. Has anyone any idea how I can remove them from the homegroup ? I have searched on the computers that the file path links to but they are not there, I have looked for hidden files and folders but still nothing. Its driving me nuts to figure it out

Thanks for the replies, Maybe this will explain it a little better. I had purchased a Linksys wireless n router and it came with a disc and it had a program called Cisco network magic on it and I installed it, but one computer could not connect but the laptop and the other computer were perfect and my wife carried on setting up the other 2, so she had created the folders, but with the other computer not connecting I just figured it would be easier to fix if I just used windows to handle the network so I uninstalled the cisco software. I eventually found out why the other computer would not connect and this was because Netbios over tcp/ip had been disabled on that machine, so with this enabled and using windows the network setup was very easy, but the folders that my wife had created using the Cisco software still show up in the homegroup, uninstalling the software seems to have left the settings behind, I have edited the registy removing anything related to purenetworks and cisco. and linksys but these folders still stay. The one computer that would not originally connect did not have these folders created on it, so that is why it does not have them. I have included a screenshot, you can see 2 machines connected and the files, homegroup is in left hand panel, the yellow folders in the homegroup left hand panel are the ones that do not exist and the blue are the normal working ones, laptop is not in the home at the moment so I cannot show it connected but it would show the same folders in the homegroup. Thank you, the link was talking about a folder that is created by network magic when it installs and not one that you create within the program, but it sent me in the correct direction. I reinstalled network magic but unfortunatley it did not read the folders that were created by the previous install, so I wondered if I created new folders with the exact same name and put them in the same file path would it somehow overwrite the original entries, so I created one as a test and then shared it with the homegroup and then deleted it totally, when the folder was deleted it removed the original entry too, so it was now gone from the homegroup, what a relief it was more of an annoyance than anything else to see all these folders and not be able to do anything about it, so now I can look at the network and be happy with it.
