    windows 7 invalid ip address

I had my desk top setup in a location in my home where I networked it through a d-link wireless adaptor to my Airlink 101 router. No problem with my network connection.

I have now moved the pc to its permanent location next to the router. I plugged in my cat5 network cable and got nothing. No connection to the router with this msg, invalid ip address.

When I do and ipconfig, i get the following readings:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

    Welcome to the forum iptvsteve,

You are showing no default gateway which needs to say 192.168.x.x depending on your router the xx will be different. Usually just resetting the router by holding down the reset button for 15 seconds while powered on will get your default gateway back up again.

If that doesn't work then performing a reset starting from the modem is usually the best way to get your default gateway back again. Just unplug the power from both your modem and router and wait a few minutes, you might have a reset button on your modem for this also.

Power up the modem and wait till the lights stop blinking, plug in the eithernet cable to the router then power up the router and wait till the lights are on steady, it may help to go through the set up routine for your particular router.

If you do it correctly you will see your default gateway appear again when you do an ipconfig and you should be able to get back online. You may need to restart your machine also.
