    Remote Desktop settings greyed

I enabled Remote Desktop with "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (Less secure)" selected. Now when I go to remote desktop settings they are greyed out. I am not able to remote into the computer now either. Does anyone know if there is some pre-req to un-grey this? or how to un-grey it? so I can enable and get started.

    Welcome!

What version of Windows 7 are you running? Also, have you tried a System Restore to get back to before you changed the setting?

Thank you so much for the link, but I Googled my problem before this Forum and found and tried that link already with no resolve.

    Hello Bnvus, Welcome to SF,

Try to Login into Build-in Administrator see whether its enabled that if that fails then the best option would to perform a Repair Install

    Good Luck,

when you said 'Now when I go to remote desktop settings they are greyed out", is this on the computer that you enabled remote assistance or the computer you're using to remote into the windows 7 computer? it always help to explain in more detail.

I assume that you enabled remote assitance on your windows 7 computer and that your other computer (BTW, what OS is it?) are networked together.

can you ping each others IP?

Both systems are Windows 7 pro and no I am not able to ping the office computer. The office computer was no longer allowing my sign on from home or my iphone, so I went to work to check it out. That is when I saw that the office computer remote settings were grayed out. I could try a system repair but that is a bit hard without a disk. Dell no longer gives an OS didk, it is all through the recovery part of the boot, which I have failed to see a repair option.
