    No I have not. But will try. Can you post the link to a tutorial (or i will find one and update this post to ask you if thats the correct method)? Thanks
    Go to Start > Control Panel. Click on Network and Sharing Center. Click Change Adapter Settings (on the left hand bar). Right click Local Area Connection and click Properties. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

    Click "Use the following IP address:" and fill in the fields based on your router's settings. You can look at roommates settings for this information. Use the same subnet mask and default gateway as them, just use a different IP. For example, if your roommates have the IPs 192.168.1.100 and .101, use .110 just to be safe.

    For primary DNS, you should be able to use the same address as the default gateway.

    Did you say you are wired to router? Have you looked at your cable to your pc from the router, Unconnect it from both and have a good look. Maybe been chewed on by a pet, just an idea, good luck to you with this problem, And welcome to SF

    OK, Im going to give this a try, only need to figure out how to find that info on a mac.

    EDIT:::

    I read somewhere that if you set it to connect to other computers (like a buisness) then it wont work, you need to change to private. I

    I see that in start, right click my computer, properties, change settings under "computer name, domain and workgroup settings" ....
    I try changing "network ID" from "part of a buisness.." to "home computer" and forces a restart.

    Every time I restart, is back to buisness, and says I need to restart it again if I want to chang it to home computer.

    Is this the problem???

    Launch System Preferences. Click Network. If it's connected wirelessly, click Airport. Then click Advanced. Click the TCP/IP tab. It should display all the information you need.
