Mt 3Com wireless PC card can't seen any networks
Hi - please excuse me but I'm a bit new to all this Windows 7 stuff.
Anyway, I have a Medion MD 96400 lappy with XP2 and decided to dual-boot Win 7 Ultimate. The installation went without a hitch and windows update subsequently found drivers for the screen and mini-PCI networking card.
It was about then I remembered why I usually use a 3Com wireless PC Card with XP - the mini-PCI card is a deaf as a post.
I disabled the mini-PCI card and plugged in the 3Com card and after a lot of huffing and puffing, windows update proudly announced it had loaded a suitable driver. The device properties confirmed that it was "working normally"
Now, I don't know what "working normally" means in Redmond but here in England it usually means it works better than a brick since, while the mini-PCIcard can find both my wireless access points if I sit close enough, the 3COM card can seen neither. Hmmm ... no twinkling lights either - not very reassuring.
BTW I tried the uninstall and rescan trick as proposed by yemencoffee but to no avail.
