    Network Naming

I have 1 windows 7 computer, a linux laptop, and a Windows XP computer. I want to add the windows 7 computer to the Network named "HOME" which has the XP and linux computer on it. I just cant seem to find a way to do in the new Win 7 GUI. Can anyone point me in the correct direction.

Only have one wireless computer, the rest is wired.

    Thanks

I think this is what you're looking for. It can be a bit confusing. I'm sure someone can help if this does not help. I believe you need to have some of the settings the same on all computers on the network. I don't know much about Linux networking.

The network name can be set in win7 from the Computer properties screen (right click Computer and select properties - Changes can be made near the bottom of the page

I think you mean how to change the domain or workgroup name. If so, go to computer properties (Start Menu, right click Computer, choose properties).

Click the link Change settings on the right side, click Change button, choose Domain or Workgroup and type the name of the domain or workgroup you want to join. Click OK and reboot.

clicking on that link just brings up the wireless networks available. I just want the Windows 7 machine to be part of the HOME network which is what my linux and XP machine are part of. Thanks for the reply
