Trying to connect with Belkin wireless NIC

Hi I've always had connection problems with my PC, but it's always the wired connection that gives up the ghost! Not my wireless. So have decided to give going wireless a go...

Now my PS3 is already connection wireless, all I had to do was enter the WEP and everything else was done automatically :) when connecting the wireless card to my PC, it asked for my WPA key, which I've heard are the same, so entered my WEP anyway and it wouldn't connect.

Since then I've changed the router to WPA... didn't work. Made the wireless card to look for WEP... didn't work. Changed to no security at all... didn't work! After this I installed the Belkin software to see if that would help, unfortunately the program doesn't seem to run properly under Windows 7.

Anyway got any ideas? Or can you recommend a wireless NIC that definitely works within 7, and is installed easily!

I would try installing the software with compatability enabled for XP/Vista and see if that helps. You could also try searching google or similar for the latest Belkin drivers. There might not yet be any yet for Se7en as it's still in the testing stages :)

i have a belkin wireless router when i first went to seven it wouldn't work either i did some reading (on this site) and found out you have to use minimum 128 bit wep it worked for me also when i updated to build 7068 it had a new driver dated 13/03/2009 V4.0.0.15 which made a big difference in performance let me know if this helps also make sure the MAC filter isn't on and its broadcasting its SSID

My router is an Orange Livebox though, made by Inventel. I wonder how I even get the SSID up as I can't use the Belkin software.

ok i didn't know what a live box is i tried to look it up on the net and i could not find a product description i was on Orange's site they seem to have lots of wireless issues re: wireless connections with Vista i did a search for Livebox under help and support maybe some help there i So you don't have belkins wireless utility installed and have you Patched it for the half open limit i did that and it caused all kinds of problems i restored it to windows default and everything worked fine
