My desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit can no longer connect to the internet via wireless or ethernet. The ethernet used to work, but no longer does (and yes, it is plugged in). The wireless worked on occasion, but not very often. Now I have nothing.
Windows Diagnostics determined that the modem is experiencing connectivity issues and "The gateway is accessible, but Windows couldn't recieve netwoork traffic from the internet."
The problem has to lie in Windows 7 because other computers, (Vista and XP) can connect via ethernet and my laptop (XP) can connect via wireless. I also know the hardware on my computer is not at fault because I can boot from a live disk with linux and everything connects just fine (wireless and ethernet).
I posted a similar thread on Microsoft's site. None of the solutions helped. See thread here: No Internet Whatsoever
Any other suggestions?

I had a similar problem with wireless with a Linksys WRT54GS router. The ethernet worked but the wireless would fail to connect. I got a new router and it worked fine. Some routers....it seems.....will not work with 64 bit Windows 7. That's the conclusion I came to.
This could be the issue here....I don't know. You could try. Make sure you can return the router. (or modem)
