If you have a router, you need to setup a wireless network first.

Start the WLan AutoConfig service so your W7 can use wireless (amek sure your laptop wireless switch is also switched ON). Once started, W7 will automatically search and detect your wireless network (SSID). You need to log onto this network.

Do the same for the Xp machine.

The problem is that I don't have a router. As my requirement is to connect only two PCs, I think router will be unnecessary.

I want to establish a peer-to-peer connection between these two machines.

    Somebody help me ..

Sorry you wanted specifically to be wireless. You could use ad-hoc wireless connection in that case.

From what angle are you referring to, do you mean security as in your network (SSID) security settings, or security as in not allowing other users who has admin logon who logs onto your machine (who can change network settings)?
