Homegroup only shows default libraries & no new folders

Hello everyone. I have been searching the answer to this question for a few hours now and my head is about to explode. If this has already been answered I apologize, I couldnt find it.

Alright here is the problem. I have my homegroup setup and everything works fine with the exception of one thing. I cannot share any folders besides the default libraries (video,music,documents...). I right-click a folder and select "share with>homegroup(read)" but the folder will not show up on any of the computers connected to the homegroup. I checked the folder description on the bottom of the windows explorer and it says it is being shared with the homegroup. The weird thing is that my PS3 can see the files with no problem. Any one have any ideas?
