Windows 7: Program loses network connection after restart

Windows 7 Pro / XP Pro
Program loses network connection after restart

Program Autocad gets a red x to mapped drive after every cpu restart.
I have this problem on both windows 7 pro CPU's. I have a hp mediasmart server. Which I mapped one of the folders from. On all my xp pro cpu's no poblems at all. I can see my mapped drive in explore, most of the time it doesnt have a red x on it, but if it does I can just click on it and red x goes away. Thats not the big problem its the red x that happens in autocad as i have to have all my startup files and setting are on the network drive. When I go in and open i always see a red x on the network drive that i need to always be open for the program to load right.

I dont get this problem if the files are on a external HD. it connects fine.

So with this info I'm looking for some ideas to try and get the network drive to always be avaible with no red x. I have look over the firewalls and and made the program and the server always open. There is just something that keeps stopping it and makes you click on the file before it is open. I'm wired lan to router to server.

Thanks in advance

Important This workaround may make your system unsafe. Microsoft does not support this workaround. Use this workaround at your own risk.

To work around this problem, configure the EnableLinkedConnections registry value. This value enables Windows Vista to share network connections between the filtered access token and the full administrator access token for a member of the Administrators group. After you configure this registry value, LSA checks whether there is another access token that is associated with the current user session if a network resource is mapped to an access token. If LSA determines that there is a linked access token, it adds the network share to the linked location.

To configure the EnableLinkedConnections registry value, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
  2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  3. Point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  4. Type EnableLinkedConnections, and then press ENTER.
  5. Right-click EnableLinkedConnections, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
  7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
