Windows 7: Internet drops when running torrent clients

Internet drops when running torrent clients

I've been browsing the forum for a while, noticing people with different kind of problems similar to mine. Yet I havent found a solution to MY problem in particular.

My problem is:

As soon as I start any kind of torrent client my internet more or less drops. I can't browse, my MSN may disconnect, steam client may disconnect. And on top of that my torrents arent working as they should. It may take up to 30mins(!) til I get a tracker response sometimes. After a while (20-30mins) I may be able to browse again (sometimes).
This problem started after installing windows 7. Everything worked fine in Vista. And yes, I did a CLEAN install.
I don't know if its relevant, but every other computer connected to the router works just fine meanwhile.

Now this is what I've tried so far:

I've tried other clients (I'm currently using uTorrent 1.8.5)
I've tried different NIC drivers.
I've tried a different NIC. (L1 attansic and RTL8169)
Tried different settings on the NIC that has been suggested on various forums. (disable treshold etc.)

So any help is very much appreciated at the moment.
