what model router?
What class ethernet cable? cat 5, 5e, 6?

the router is a D-Link DIR625 Wireless N, 802.11n, firmware 3.08
the ethernet cable has CAT 5E printed on it
the wireless network adapter is D-Link RangeboosterN, Marvell
driver 1.0.5.2, the most up-to-date one that I can find
