    Routing two nics on win7


    Hi, I am having a problem setting up a route between to network cards with windows 7. I am on a networkengineering course and we have just set up our own servers SBS2008 i have to NICs in my windows7 box on connects to the proxy then out to the internet then the other connects to my server i am tring to route from my server thru the windows 7 box out to the internet I have set up the routing tables on both machiens however there is still something stopping communication between the two NICs in my the windows 7 box please help

    routing on server

    is normal only i have added

    1902.168.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.1.2.10 10.1.2.1 21



    the ip on my windows 7 box is 192.168.106.35 IF 1
    10.1.2.10 IF 2
    on the server it is 10.1.2.1
    the path out to the internet is gateway 192.168.106.1
      My Computer

    sorry rout on server has typo

    192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.1.2.10 10.1.2.1 21

    I am not into networking, but could it be that you are dealing with two ranges that aren't routable?

    If I were having this problem, I would potentially look into Network Address Translation (NAT)

    hi yip the ip address are definatly routable and NAT is not part of it thanks for the help tho

    (Built-in) Routing is not supported in Windows 7. Vista was the last desktop OS that could route IP packets.
