    inter-network chat

    Hey guys,

I remember on windows 2000, you could send a chat message to another computer on the network from the "run" (or maybe from the cmd). I can't remember which. What I do remember, however, is that when you send the chat, it just pops up on the computer you're sending it to.

Is this feature available on Win7?

    thanks,
    eamon

    Hello Eamon,

I'm not sure if it works the same way with a user on a computer on the network, but you can send messages to other users using Task Manager.

    Hope this helps,

You are talking about net send from a cmd prompt. It seems net send has been replaced by MSG in vista and 7. Open a cmd prompt and type msg /? for more info.

Edit: It doesn't seem to send to an xp machine.
