Unique VPN issue...

I think I may have a "zinger" here. I am completely out of ideas on what could be causing and have googled endlessly to solve this. On my W7 Ult PC I cannot establish any sort of VPN issue. I set up my desktop as a VPN server over PPTP and the computers fail to establish a connection giving error 720. Further, I believe it could be related when trying to connect to a SSL VPN server using Cisco AnyConnect I get an error saying that it can't contact the VPN service.

It's not my router, I am able to connect using another laptop to the SSL VPN. I have reset several times regardless.

It is not windows firewall as I have tried turning it off.

I think it is some failing windows 7 service...

Any help/guidance would be very much appreciated.

I don't believe it's an issue with the Cisco client as I'm having the VPN server issue and it works just fine on my laptop.

64 bit OS in play here?

64 is notorious for failing vpns. what version of client are you using and are you sure it's 64 bit compatible? do you have netbios enabled?

I am quite sure as it has worked before. Suddenly both VPN issues stopped working. I'm not sure which NetBIOS setting you're exactly referring too, but I haven't changed anything from their defaults and since they worked.

I just reinstalled my NIC driver for fun just in case.

The server end may need some attention also if a 64 bit client is trying to connect. win7clutz's suggestion of contacting Cisco is not a bad idea.
