ICS through wireless network not working
I Have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 a week ago and I have been very happy for the improvements in comparison to the previous windows OS'. A few days back I have been using my pc as a wireless internet router for my other devices such as my ipod and my wifi phone, since the internet connection to my pc is wired. Just a couple of days ago, my other devices CANNOT to the internet ANYMORE, eventhough the network indicator in the lower right part of my screen says there is an internet access on the wireless network. (on the status screen it says that the IPv6 has no network access). When I try to diagnose it, it says that "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
As I was using ICS on XP before, all I did was to change the IP address to 192.168.0.1 and gateway to 255.255.255.0. After that I only had to connect my devices wirelessly and everything was fine. In windows 7, I already tried changing the IP and Gateway but to no avail. My devices still could not connect to the internet.
I have tried to follow some threads here in seven forums which was very similar to my case, but still ended up with an unsolved dilemma.
I hope someone would come up with the solution, Its really driving me nuts....
BTW, this was the second time this happened to me. I had to reformat my pc the first time this happened, but I couldn't reformat it this time because I would LOSE all my settings and other files that I already painstakingly organized.
