    mrtstub.exe in General Security Discussion

    If you think someone uses your laptop without your permission why not protect it with a password?
    Or CCTV

    Hello Jagjr, welcome to Seven Forums!

    The suggestion by Mitchell is a good one; here's a tutorial on that subject, have a look at it at the link below; then have a look at the second tutorial as a safety precaution.

    My computer has a 24 AlphaNumeric Password with capitals.
    I locked my computer this morning and found it unlocked when i came back. No one knows my password.

    Are there activity logs?

    Yes. Right click on the my computer icon, select manage, go to event viewer -> windows logs -> security. Look for logons attempted with explicit credentials.

    However, unless you've already enabled audit logging for login failures, you won't know if there were multiple attempts. To enable audits for logins:

    start -> gpedit.msc
    computer configuration -> windows settings -> local policies -> audit policy
    Double click on audit logon events, enable failure (and also success, if you want)

    Log off, enter a bad password, then a good password, and check your security logs. You'll see the failure (and success, if you enabled that in your audit log).
