    No LAN after hibernation

Just new to 7 and liked the idea of hibernation as my kids never turn anything off :)
When it does hibernate I can't get a LAN connection to work, I've tried rebooting my modem.
Usually I need to 'restart' but this morning even that did not fix it! Cold restart and we are all good.
Though hibernation was supposed to mean less start time.....

    Any suggestions?

Try hybrid sleep or sleep instead of hibernation. Sleep will wake up instantly. You can also custom set your power options to power down those devices you wish to power down and leave others up and running.

Try updating your network drivers in Device Manager as well.

Great thanks for the advice, I did try sleep/hybrid and hibernation settings without luck.
My network adapter has the most current driver and it is only a few months old.

I've just changed the power setting for my PCI and will let you know what happens.

I found that changing the power settings worked best for me. My computer runs 24/7.

Well I've tried a number of different power setting but still every time I leave the PC to sleep hybrid or hibernate, I have no internet connection on return. I have also tried to 'reconnect', but it just can't seem to find the link unless I reboot!

I have submitted a help desk ticket to MS, wait and see what response I get.

Let us know what the answer is. I avoid hibernation and hybrid sleep. I have never gotten these to work properly on a desktop. I simply use the power settings to shut down the hard drives and the monitor. I don't shut down USB or anything else. I did try invoking sleep and it worked and woke up properly.

If u right-click the adapter properties and look for the Power management tab, can u check that 'Allow the computer to turn off this device...' is unticked.
