Missing IPV6 Protocol

Hello! I need help with networking on Windows 7. I have upgraded from Vista recently, but since then my network connection has just gone. I think it's something to do with the fact that my IPV6 protocol is behaving strangely, but I can't connect to any other devices on our home network. I can connect to the Internet, no problem, but I can't, for example, connect to my Xbox 360 with Media Centre. I have trawled the Internet looking for a solution, but I have had no luck. Also, instead of a signal strength icon in the bottom right corner, I have an five empty bars with a yellow star on it. Help!

Thanks in advance

I have a suggestion. set up a new network connection using workgroup. Workgroup works using IPv4 is more stabile and doesnt use IPv6.

then y ou can kill the homegroup and disable IPv6.\
