Windows 7: Wired connection priority

Wired connection priority

My desktop has 2 network connections (wired & wireless). I am trying to find a way to give priority to the wired connection over the wireless.

I have tried manually adjusting the metrics (under Advanced TCP/IP Settings) for both accordingly, but this does not work.

I have tried adjusting the Connections rankings under Network Connections Advanced Settings, but this does not work either.

I do not want to have to enable/disable the wireless. I've looked all around the internet and can't find a solution that works.
