While progably not the cause, since you have mixed machines you dhould be running workgroup, not homegroup. I would then recheck the permissioms

Windows 7 X64

Could you verify the services I need running for sharing to work accordingly?

Im in workgroup now, but now I cant get the XP machine to see the 7 machine, but 7 sees XP and can access its files. When I go into the 7 start menu and open "Network" I can see XP and 7 together but I cant access my own shared files from within the Network folder, the folder is visible but when I try open I get this error "The device or resource (UNIDEN-PC) is not set up to accept connections on port "The File and printer sharing (SMB)". Any ideas?

Ok I got both systems to recognize each other and both can access each others files, and fixed the issue where XP was allowed to delete 7s files without permission, I didnt setup advanced sharing in 7 correctly and hadnt set Read permission under "Everyone". Thanks to all for your help and support.
