windows 7 virtual XP mode static IP not working
O.K here is the scenario, I have read thru most of the virtual xp mode posts and those problems are with networking between multiple computers and/or the internet.
My problem is with my computer and a IP device (phone system PBX), Proprietary software not compatible with windows 7.
If my laptop is on a network with DHCP using DHCP and the PBX is on the same network with static IP everything works great.
The problem starts when there is no network and I am connected using patch cable between my laptop and PBX, if I setup my NIC card for static IP, I cannot ping or get access to the PBX in XP mode.
I can ping the PBX from windows 7
I have tried setting IPs
the same in windows 7 and XP mode
different IPs in windows 7 and XP
DHCP in windows 7 and static in XP
static in windows 7 and DHCP in xp (this gives me a strange IP in XP even though there is no DHCP server 192.168.131.65) this worked for about 10 min then stopped.
Any clue as to what I need to do to get static IPs to work in XP mode???
