Serious Wireless Speed Issue
I'm done blaming it on the wireless cards.
I upgraded to Windows 7 x64 from Vista x86. I had a Linksys PCI Wireless card running perfectly in Vista x86 (read: It achieved near the advertised connection speed of my ISP)
Since upgrading to 7 x64 I was never able to creep anywhere above 2Mb on a 6Mb connection. Latest drivers.
I hopped onto newegg and read that people were having success with Gigabyte's GN-WP01GS card. I bought it, installed it, and downloaded the latest 7 x64 drivers. Machine gets 2-2.5mb.
I set an old black Macbook on the desk right next to the desktop. Consistent 5.9Mb
I really don't know what the issue could be. I'm starting to wonder if Windows 7 x64 is even a remotely decent networking OS.
