Connecting to printer

Hi,

Any advice would be appreciated; I have a laptop running Windows 7, which I want to connect to a PC running Windows XP to access the printer, the laptop can see the printer but when I connect I get the following message
‘Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied’.

I have the printer shared out on the PC, just for information the laptop can see shared files and folders on the PC, without any problems.

Regards,

Doc, I am interested in how you resolve this problem. I had this identical problem and I did solve; but I am sure my method was not the most expeditious.

Did you go throgh the "add printer" sequence in control panel -> printers?

It should share the printer but there's a small protocal driver that has to be dowloaded to the laptop...
