| | Unable to use shared printers on Win2008R2 from Win2000 Hi all, I have a printer sharing problem between Windows 2000 (Advanced Server SP4) and Windows Server 2008 R2. On the W2K8R2 system I'm sharing two printers (Fineprint). Permissions are set to allow everyone to print. I'm connecting from Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7 to these printers without any problem and are able to print with them. However, using them from Windows 2000 doesn't work. I write "use" and not "connect" because I can connect to the printers and install the printer drivers, but when I select the printer properties, I get the message "Printer properties cannot be displayed. Access is denied." Same with the printing preferences. I connect through the same user as with the working clients. I can also prove that authentication works from the W2K machine by successfully connecting to a file share on the W2K8R2 server. Any ideas? Thanks, SH |
