Can't discover other computers on network

I have several 7 and Vista machines and a computer running Server 2008 R2 in a networking sharing the same workgroup name. All of the computers were working and were connected to the server which shares out network storage and printers. Everything was working fine until suddenly one laptop cannot discover any other computer in the network. I am still connected to the network and can successfully ping the other computers but it won't find them. I have tried disabling the firewall and all of the network settings match. I'm not really sure what suddenly went wrong. Also, all of the other computers are still connected to the network just fine.

Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention that the computer that doesn't work is Win 7 Ultimate.

Have you tried resetting everything on that computer to default settings and setting it up the way you originally did?

I have tried resetting everything and it doesn't seem to help.
I'm not sure if this is related but if I type ipconfig in command prompt I get several hundred tunnel adapter local area connection results. Similar to this post (except I am up to 315 of them right now) How to remove the (52 at present!!!) "tunnel adapter Local Area connection" shown in IPCONFIG ALL?

Also, this computer is a laptop that travels between two networks frequently. These are the one at home and one at school. The school one is just a wireless connection for internet.

Do you have automatic updates turned on, and if so did your issues start Wednesday?

I do have automatic updates turned on, however, the problem started several weeks ago. I just haven't gotten around to fixing it until now.

Since you said it was working, it may have been caused by a recent update... try restoring to a previous date and let us know what the results are.

On the Windows 7 laptop with the problem do this.

Go to command prompt and type regedit then hit enter, navigate to the following key and make this adjustment.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
create or modify 32-bit DWORD: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
set the value to: 1

The restore points only go back a little bit over a week (the problem began before then). I tried the registry fix, it wasn't in there so I added it and it still doesn't work.
Also, I noticed that one of the computers I have isn't in the same workgroup (though it still connects fine to the server). The problem computer can see that one, but none of the others. Also, all of the other computers can see the problem computer.
Thanks for your help!

Did you reboot after tweaking registry?
