Win7 only Detects XP PC in "Full Network Map"
I have an unusual problem that started as of last week.
My 3-PC network consists of two Win7 Ultimate (fully updated) PCs and a single XP-SP3 (fully updated) PC. As of early last week, all PCs appeared correctly in the workgoup on both Win7 and XP PCs and shared resources successfully.
I can't be sure, but suspect that the Windows Updates of last week adversely affected either the Win7 PCs or the XP PC or both.
My Win7 PCs suddenly stopped "seeing" and "accessing" the XP PC when I open the "Network" applet in Win7 or attempt to access existing shares. However, the XP PC does "see" and can access all resources on both of the Win7 PCs without any problems.
Strangely enough, the Win7 PCs show the XP PC in the "Full Network Map" but not in the standard "Network" applet. The "Full Network Map" does not display the "hand" icon for the XP PC, but does for all other devices shown in the map. All other devices can be opened by clicking the device icons on the Full Network Map except the XP PC.
The XP PC has the LLTD service running (which I just installed as a troubleshooting solution without any affect). Simple File Sharing is off. The workgroup name has not changed and all PCs have the same workgroup name. The same User account names exist on all PCs. The same firewalls and AV apps have been in use for six months on all PCs without changes - Win7 PCs use Windows Firewall and MS Security Essentials and the XP PC uses Zone Alarm with MS Security Essentials. Both firewalls trust the network IP address range and always have. I tried disabling both the Win7 and XP firewalls, but the XP PC still wasn't available on the Win7 PCs.
Something was changed without my knowledge on one or all PCs and I have tried dozens of approaches outlined in web posts without success.
Any help would be appreciated.
