cannot copy files over home network! PLEASE HELP :(

Lets call upstairs computer "A" (has windows 7 X64), Downstairs computer will be "B"- has windows xp.
When I try to copy or move video files (350 MB and above) from"A" to "B", operation starts but hangs after a while and then I get this error:
"there is a problem accessing [path of "B" destination directory]. make sure you are connected to the network and try again."
This happens when I try to copy files to ANY of my drives on "B" (internal or external). BUT it does not happen when copying small files.
There is enough empty space on destination drive.
I'm using cable lan (not wireless), and have tplink router (TL-WR64XG).
I also tried to reset router settings to factory settings with no luck.
Any ideas?

I suspect you are using Homegroup. Homegroup has conectivity problems on some networks (especially mixed OS networks).

You can easily verify if that is the problem be creating a new network connection using workgroup instead. If the problem disappears you can stop IPv6 and kill off the homegroup.

Never mind, I think the problem is solved!
All I had to do was update my Realtek network adapter driver on "B" (win xp).
The reason I thought the drivers were up to date is because no necessary update showed up on windows update (not even in the optional updates!).
So I had to find this update myself.
If problem persists, I'll be back. Until then, thank U all anyways.

Problem solved for me. On W7 PC I could see an old shared folder "bolox" from XP PC. On XP PC it didn't exist anymore. It was deleted. What I have done was created new folder named "bolox", XP asked me if I wanted to replace old "bolox" with new "bolox". I replaced it. Then stadrard precedure on XP: share "bolox" so I could acces it on W7 PC then unshare "bolox". After that on my W7 PC "bolox" disappeared and copying big files was OK again. I think W7 PC was looking for not existing folder on my XP PC and that was the reason for hunging all copying from W7 PC to XP PC. I add only that I always could copy from W7 PC to XP PC doing it from my XP PC. I could NOT copy from W7 PC to XP PC doing it from W7 PC. I hope it's clear.
